6 April 2022Ms. Sarah-Jane Wild, Chair of the Pacific Catastrophe Risk Insurance Company (PCRIC), has been recognized as one of 2022’s leading women in the New Zealand insurance industry by Insurance Business New Zealand (IBNZ).
The Elite Women list featured 19 exceptional female leaders who were identified based on their roles in the insurance industry, demonstrating a commitment to their profession and influencing the sector. Nominees were evaluated on their involvement in the diversity, equity, and inclusion movement, as well as their contributions to society through volunteering and charity work.
During her tenure in Fiji, Ms. Wild advocated for insurance reform to provide coverage for communities in need, particularly following the devastation caused by tropical cyclone Winston in 2016, which affected thousands of families.
PCRIC’s CEO, Mr. Aholotu Palu, congratulated Ms. Wild, stating, “Sarah-Jane’s dedicated and passionate contribution to the insurance industry clearly highlights the importance of shifting from a reactive to a proactive approach to disasters.”
He added, “Her professional and personal achievements are commendable, and we at PCRIC are proud to have her guide our team toward scalable solutions and processes that help Pacific nations build resilience against natural hazards.”
