The Pacific Catastrophe Risk Insurance Company (PCRIC) Board and Management team were shocked and saddened with the sudden news of the untimely passing of the former Japanese Prime Minister, Mr. Shinzo Abe.
In 2016, the Pacific Catastrophe Risk Assessment and Financing Initiative (PCRAFI) Multi-Donor Trust Fund was established with Japan being a donor to PCRIC’s efforts to be a provider of disaster risk finance services and solutions to the Pacific region.
We fondly hold dear the friendship, partnership and support that the Government of Japan has provided to PCRIC throughout these years, and who continue to do so today. We deeply condemn such an act that abruptly took the life of a man who has diligently led his people and was the nation’s longest-serving Prime Minister in Japanese history.
Our Teams’ thoughts and prayers are with the late Mr. Abe’s family during this difficult time, and especially to the people of Japan. We wish our dear friend and colleague peace as he finds rest. Farewell, Mr. Abe… and thank you.
