The Pacific Catastrophe Risk Insurance Company (PCRIC) Board and Management team are saddened with the news of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the United Kingdom’s longest-serving monarch.
In February this year, Her late Majesty The Queen celebrated a historic milestone, her Platinum Jubilee. With an admirable 70 year reign, her benign and eloquent presence will surely be missed by all who knew her beyond the walls of Buckingham Palace.
In 2016, the Pacific Catastrophe Risk Assessment and Financing Initiative (PCRAFI) Multi-Donor Trust Fund was established with the UK being a donor to PCRIC’s efforts to be a provider of disaster risk finance services and solutions to the Pacific region.
We fondly hold dear the friendship, partnership and support that the UK Government has provided to PCRIC throughout these years, and who continue to do so today.
During this difficult time, our teams’ thoughts and prayers are particularly with the late monarch’s family as well as to all the people of the UK.
Her late Majesty The Queen, in her thank you message following her Platinum Jubilee, said that she, “remain[s] committed to serving to the best of my ability.”
Truly, she has done just that for all these years, right until the very end. Her loyalty, service and legacy to the crown and country will long be remembered. May she rest in eternal peace.
