PCRIC Team Attends Multiple COP27 Side Events

The Pacific Catastrophe Risk Insurance Company (PCRIC) CEO, Mr. Aholotu Palu and Finance & Planning Manager, Mr. Pankaj Singh met with Mr. Jan Kellett, Special Advisor, Head of Insurance and Risk Finance for UNDP.
The discussions mainly focused on key areas of collaboration between UNDP and PCRIC especially in #enhancing the understanding of parametric insurance, insurance product development/enhancement and premium support for the Pacific Island countries.
Broadly, it was agreed that UNDP will discuss the potential to work closely together in the development of a substantive proposal intended to seek donor support in possible areas, inter alia, technical assistance support, policy and strategy development and premium financing.
In terms of next steps, the PCRIC and UNDP teams will work on the needed data and information aimed at articulating how a programme to build the financial resilience of Pacific Islanders would work at scale, and for the long-term.
