PCRIC Meets with SPREP Management
10 August 2024Consolidating discussions held on the sidelines of this year’s FEMM, a country mission to Samoa was undertaken by PCRIC to further explain policy details and options for parametric insurance ahead of the annual policy renewal period (November 1st 2024).
Speaking with the Hon. Minister of Finance, CEO of Finance, and key technical staff, PCRIC CEO, Mr. Aholotu Palu and Chief Risk Officer, Mr. Richard Poulter, addressed renewal options for policies covering tropical cyclone, earthquake and tsunami events, as well as the possibility of a new policy covering excess rainfall / flooding.
The Ministry of Finance leadership affirmed the government’s ongoing support of PCRIC, and welcomed the company’s continuing efforts to not only close the gaps, but to also improve the affordability of financial protection against natural disasters with the introduction of subsidised premiums.
