PCRIC Speaks at CDRI COP 29 Side Event

PCRIC CEO, Mr. Aholotu Palu, participated as a panellist at the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) side event during COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

With the theme, ‘Public Finance at the Forefront: Integrating Disaster Risk into Development & Financial Planning’, Mr. Palu emphasised the critical importance of embedding disaster risk finance into the Public Financial Management (PFM) framework from the planning stages. He highlighted that this integration should cascade down to the budgeting process, enabling more effective allocation of scarce resources and enhancing decision-making.

Possessing an extensive background in PFM, Mr. Palu’s contributions, alongside those of his fellow panellists, fuelled a dynamic and insightful dialogue that significantly enriched CDRI’s study on Fiscal Risk Assessments (FRA) at both sub-national and national levels, reinforcing the importance of strategic fiscal planning in disaster resilience.
