24 February 2025At the ongoing Disaster Risk Finance (DRF) Workshop in Nadi, PCRIC held constructive discussions with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on the urgent need to strengthen financial protection for Pacific nations. The PCRIC team reaffirmed that climate change and disaster risk financing support must remain a top priority for regional resilience, ensuring that countries have access to the necessary financial solutions when disasters strike.
PCRIC updated the ADB delegation on its current efforts to mobilise resources from key donors for capital investment and premium financing to assist countries in building resilience. The team also provided insights into its policy and product diversification process, ensuring that offerings are both realistically designed and aligned with market needs, including those of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and key sectors.
PCRIC remains committed to working with partners to drive impactful solutions that enhance financial preparedness and disaster response across the region.
