PCRIC Engages at 5th Asia Finance Forum to Strengthen Pacific Disaster Risk Financing  

At the recent 5th Asia Finance Forum in Manila, Philippines, PCRIC contributed to key dialogue reinforcing its pivotal role in disaster risk financing (DRF) for the Pacific. Held at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters, the Forum convened top policymakers and private sector leaders along with industry experts to explore the latest financial innovations aimed at strengthening resilience and safeguarding communities against increasing climatic events.

Alongside the Forum, PCRIC held discussions with ADB on the potential to collaborate on in advancing DRF solutions for Pacific Island countries, including technical assistance initiatives, and data and analytics through ADB’s new Disaster Risk Analytics Explorer, which is being developed to provide Pacific Island Countries with comprehensive risk analytics.

PCRIC see ADB as a key partner in the future of providing Pacific Island Countries with access to DRF solutions, and looks forward to future collaboration to help build the resilience of countries against the growing risk of disasters.
