13 April 2026PCRIC is pleased to confirm that in keeping with its ambitions to strengthen DRF management capabilities at the local level, Ms. Amelia Fa’otusia has been appointed as PCRIC’s National DRF Adviser for Tonga.
Formally introduced this week to the Honorable Prime Minister, Lord Fakafanua, and the Hon. Minister of Finance, Lata Tangimana, Ms. Fa’otusia joins a growing cohort of locally based specialist advisers embedded within government Climate and Disaster Risk Finance (CDRF) ecosystems of Pacific Island Countries.
The DRF Adviser role is designed to develop and retain critical local expertise and establish durable national capability. By working alongside counterparts in Finance and other portfolios, the Adviser will support the development and implementation of national CDRF policies and strategies, and help advance related initiatives that strengthen readiness for future climate-related shocks.
