PCRIC was pleased to participate in the Pacific Regional Disaster and Emergency Managers Meeting (PRDEMM) 2026, hosted by the Pacific Community (SPC), contributing to the Spotlight Session on Disaster Risk Financing (DRF).
During the session, PCRIC highlighted its role as the region’s sovereign risk pooling mechanism, delivering rapid parametric insurance payouts to Pacific Island governments to support timely disaster response. Alongside contributions from UNCDF and the World Bank, the session reinforced the importance of financial protection and a layered DRF approach in strengthening resilience to increasing climate and disaster risks across the Pacific.
