The PCRIC CEO attended the fourth session of the InsuResilience Global Partnership (IGP) in December 2020. A G7 initiative, InsuResilience is a platform for inclusive collaboration, shared learning and delivery on climate and disaster risk finance and insurance solutions.
The impressive concept brings together developing countries, development partners, private sector, international organisations, and civil society into a single, shared environment. When the Forum ended, the wheels were put in motion via meetings and various discussions with IGP management for PCRIC to become a member. This benefits PCRIC in terms of increasing its brand awareness and visibility.
Four months later, in April 2021, PCRIC officially became a member of the IGP. This is a significant achievement for PCRIC as its collaborations with the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat in enhancing and strengthening partnerships within the region, is further boosted in line with the IGP’s global initiatives within the disaster risk finance and insurance space.
PCRIC’s Foundation Members, Fiji and the Republic of the Marshall Islands, are also members of the IGP. The platform aims to protect the lives and livelihoods of poor and vulnerable people against the impacts of disasters and to make developing countries more resilient to climate risks.
