The Pacific Catastrophe Risk Insurance Company (PCRIC) was invited to the Cook Islands High Commission Official Opening earlier this week in Suva. In attendance was the PCRIC Regional Coordinator, Ms. Akosita Drova.
Speaking from London, the PCRIC CEO offered his congratulations and well wishes. “It is indeed wonderful that the Cook Islands has reinforced its collaborative and development agendas in the hub of the Pacific. The opening of the mission office for sure will enhance the already fostered alliances with regional organisations and diplomatic representatives based in Fiji.”
“As PCRIC is domiciled in the Cook Islands having being founded as an initiative of Pacific Finance Ministers at FEMM15 held in Rarotonga, our team looks forward and is ready to support the High Commission in whatever ways possible.”
The initial establishment of the High Commission office was carried out in January 2020. However, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, this impacted resourcing and staffing which ultimately delayed opening proceedings.
With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions and borders re-opening, this has allowed the High Commission team to continue their plans to officially open its doors to the people of Fiji. The event was hosted by the Cook Islands, Prime Minister Honorable Mark Brown.
