PCRIC Meets with Top ACP Representative
The Pacific Catastrophe Risk Insurance Company (PCRIC) team met with the Assistant Secretary-General, Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (ACP) Secretariat, Environment and Climate Action, Ms. Cristelle Pratt at the sidelines of the COP27 conference.
The meeting focused on the areas where PCRIC can work closely with the ACP secretariat to advance issues on climate risk related disasters that continue to devastate the ACP countries when a natural hazard event occurs.
Recognizing the convening powers of the ACP along with the need for collaboration in capacity building, it was discussed and suggested to organize a webinar session for all risk pools with the ACP early next year. This is to identify opportunities for building synergies and possibly establishing a strong platform for knowledge and information sharing.
It was understood by the end of the meeting that there will be more granular deliberation on these issues going forward.
