CEO, ‘Aholotu Palu, attended the Linking Risk Financing to Anticipatory Action third sectoral community meeting in early July 2021, organised by the InsuResilience Global Partnership. InsuResilience is a platform for inclusive collaboration, shared learning and delivery on climate and disaster risk finance and insurance solutions.
The purpose of his participation was to enhance PCRIC’s global viability and to share the Pacific’s experiences in linking disaster risk financing to both historical responses and future strategies.
“Not only was PCRIC provided a platform for a presentation on Pacific experiences, we were also able to form multiple alliances at the Meeting which will ultimately bring benefits to almost every Pacific Island nation,” Mr. Palu said.
A major outcome of the meeting was the planning of a workshop to influence a wider group of actors to engage with the sectoral community. The workshop is being planned for the second half of September in advance of the InsuResilience Annual Forum and COP26.
