Hello
Established in 2016, PCRIC has been supporting disaster risk management and providing risk pooling mechanisms for Pacific Islands to strengthen regional resilience. Our existing insurance programs are intended to help sovereign governments and select state-owned entities to better prepare for natural and climate related disasters.
Our progress over the years has taught us that we must continue to evolve and adapt to maintain pace with changing country needs and emerging circumstances. This has been demonstrated by the introduction of additional product lines for drought and excess rainfall, and the move to offer bespoke policy coverage to select SOEs.
PCRIC also aims to elevate our capacity to provide more education and technical support, as well as a broader array of Disaster Risk Management advice to our client base.
We recognise the immeasurable value of the support and encouragement offered by our donor partners and other stakeholders. The advent of funding for policy premium subsidies has been a welcome development, greatly improving the affordability and accessibility of coverage to regional nations.
Equally, we are pleased to have been able to enter into collaborative arrangements with a number of stakeholders keen to support the impact of PCRIC’s work. This has strengthened our capability and further embedded PCRIC in the vital CDRFI infrastructure of the region.
PCRIC now has a unique blend of finance instruments and technical skills to strengthen linkages between country disaster risk management strategies, risk transfer needs, poverty reduction and economic growth.
PCRIC exists to serve the Pacific, and our actions are aimed at being part of the solution to regional DRF challenges, ultimately helping Pacific Island nations to build a greater resilience to natural disasters.
Thank you.
