In an unexpected development during the recent Forum Economic Ministers Meeting (FEMM), the PCRIC CEO, Mr. Aholotu Palu, was invited to moderate the Forum Economic Ministers’ panel discussion session. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mr. Palu was requested to take over the role from the PCRIC Board Director, Mr. Siosiua Utoikamanu (former Minister of Finance and former National Reserve Bank Governor for the Government of Tonga).
In calling to order the Talanoa session, Mr. Palu noted that the, “dialogue today is more than just a conversation; it is an opportunity to shape the transformative agenda that will guide our economic growth and resilience.”
Highlighting the overall agenda of the session, he emphasised that, “the strategies we discuss here will influence our negotiations and interactions with development partners, ensuring that we leverage every available resource to its maximum potential.”
Additionally, he concluded his opening comments with, “let us work together to solidify our commitment to a prosperous and resilient Pacific, where no nation is left behind,” he said.
While the role and session that Mr. Palu moderated had no direct relation to PCRIC, this opportunity not only validated PCRIC’s rising profile but also served to elevate the prominent position PCRIC has reached in the architecture of the region’s climate space.
