The recent inclusion of the US President Joseph Biden addressing leaders at the Pacific Islands Forum Meeting was seen as a progressive step where the US re-confirmed their support to the Pacific Island nations in their fight against climate change.
Being the first US President to participate at the Forum Meeting at the invitation of the Forum Chair, President Biden said that, “The Pacific Island nations know better than anyone that averting the worst effects of climate change is going to save lives. The United States is committed to dramatically reducing our emissions by 2030 and building resilience in vulnerable communities globally.”
