PCRIC is proud to announce the addition of Ms. Irma Daphney Stone to our team as the newly appointed Risk Manager. Ms. Stone brings with her a wealth of experience in regional and public administration, acquired through notable positions at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, University of the South Pacific, and the South Pacific Tourism Organisation.
Her extensive background also includes serving as the CEO for the Ministry of Revenue and Customs in Tonga, as well as holding the role of Operations Manager at the Oceania Customs Organisation in Fiji.
Ms. Stone’s career trajectory is marked by significant achievements, as she began her professional journey as a development accountant in Tonga in 1994, a time when the presence of business graduates was scarce. In 2012, she became the first female CEO of the Ministry of Revenue and Customs, breaking barriers and establishing herself as one of the few female leaders in customs and taxation in the Pacific.
In her role as Risk Manager at PCRIC, Ms. Stone will leverage her extensive expertise to provide invaluable technical guidance, leadership, and advice to the PCRIC Board and Management Team. Her responsibilities encompass the entire spectrum of risk management for the company, including oversight of its segregated cell offering DRFI products.
Specifically, Ms. Stone will undertake a crucial role in conducting technical reviews and offering input, participating in policy formulation, and providing advice to enhance PCRIC’s Risk Management System and Risk Control Functions. This strategic initiative aims to empower PCRIC to take proactive ownership of the risks it faces, facilitating informed decision-making regarding the company’s models, products, operations, and result interpretation.
Ms. Stone’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity and robustness of PCRIC’s models and products, with a primary focus on maintaining the company’s solvency and liquidity standards. Moreover, she will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with recently updated regulations that PCRIC will operate under as a Segregated Cell Company.
PCRIC is confident that Ms. Irma Daphney Stone’s wealth of experience and leadership qualities will significantly contribute to elevating our risk management practices and further solidify our position in the DRF space. The PCRIC Board and Management Team warmly welcome Ms. Stone and look forward to achieving new heights of success together.
