Susan Yee
Creative Strategist – Website Development
Susan serves as the Director Creative at Webmedia South Pacific. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Language with a minor in History from the University of the South Pacific.
Upon graduation, Susan has spent the past 8 years at Webmedia South Pacific where she oversees the Creative Production Team. Responsibilities include: Copywriting, Editing, Newsletters, Photography, Webmaster(ing), Conducting Interviews, Research, Videography, Graphic Design, Advising graphic designers and Project Management of elite clientele.
A Fiji citizen by birth, Susan recently served as the Campaign Project Manager for the ‘I Am Digital’ Online Safety Awareness Campaign (Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, PNG) in collaboration with Save the Children Fiji and Facebook Australia from late 2020 to early 2021.
In late 2019 to early 2020, Susan was responsible for the collection of and editing content for the Solomon Islands Government Portal and spent 2 months in-country working alongside the Government’s ICT Team.
She served as the Project Administrator of National Rebranding for Tourism Solomons in 2018, the first of its kind to be implemented by the entire government as well. She also supervised the roll-out of more than 75,000 words of copywriting, and more than 100 new designed / printed items of entirely new set of branded collateral. She also project managed a major website for the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat in 2017, quite likely the largest donor agency that serves the entire South Pacific Islands.
On a more personal level, in 2019, Susan was selected as one of 15 South Pacific Islands Representatives for Tourism Professionals given her extensive background in creative and branding inputs for multiple tourism entities of all sizes. The six-week training program was held in the United States of America and concluded with a Professional Fellows Congress in Washington D.C attended by 270 professionals from various backgrounds along with high-ranking U.S Government Dignitaries.
Additionally, Susan was recognized as the Category Winner for “Rest of the Pacific”: Samoa Observer Tusitala Short Story Competition 2017. The anthology titled ‘The Pacific is Rising’ was launched at the Sheraton Hotel in Apia, Samoa on November 23rd, 2018. She was then selected as a highly commended writer in the same competition in 2019 and published for the second time in the forthcoming anthology, ‘Our Heritage, the Ocean.’
In May 2023, she was selected as a participant in the 16-week Fiji Script Development Program organised by Film Fiji and with support from the European Union through the ACP-EU Programme (Pacific) facilitated by SPC – The Pacific Community in collaboration with Australia-based Media Mentors.
